I am a representational oil painter because I relate to the objects in my world and hope to make others see what I see. I love the broad landscapes, the translucent quality of a gladiola flower, the color and shape of a pear. Besides creating what I hope others will appreciate, I enjoy the experience of spending time with the subjects of my painting. Maybe that is what this painting thing is really all about. When I am finished working on a piece, I feel like I know it.  The objects have energy and I am honored to have been a recipient of that energy sharing.
